covid-19 relief
The COVID-19 pandemic created a demand for a variety of equipment in the Waterloo Schools as students returned to in-person learning in the Fall of 2020. With the generosity of the Guernsey Foundation, Otto Schoitz Foundation, and private Emergency Fund donations, the Waterloo Schools Foundation pivoted our dollars to cover emergency building costs, professional development for teachers relating to the impact of COVID-19, and over 300 Chromebooks for WCSD students to eliminate gaps in technology access. Materials like hand sanitizer, masks, desk dividers, and more allowed buildings to allocate dollars elsewhere and continue to provide quality education to our youth in a global crisis. In total, the WSF spent $125,000 throughout the pandemic on COVID-19-related grants.
